Hebou PNG Barramundis defeat Hong Kong in second 50 Over Fixture

The Hebou PNG Barramundis wrapped up the Hebou International 50 Over Series with a comfortable 139 run victory over Hong Kong today at Amini Park.

Needing a victory to keep the Hebou International 50 Over Series alive, Hong Kong won the toss and sent the Hebou PNG Barramundis into bat. The Barramundis got off to a steady start reaching 2/46 after 10 overs after losing Kipling Doriga (12) and Assad Vala (2) earlyy. Then the in-form middle order of Charles Amini Jnr (62), Sese Bau (32) and Lega Siaka (26) lifted the scoring rate with Tony Ura (70 runs off 59 balls) anchoring the innings. Late order hitting from Norman Vanua (61* off 37 balls) then took the score past 300 for the second consecutive match and eventually reached 8/319 off their allotted 50 overs. Raag Kapur (2/39) and Ehsan Khan (2/79) were the pick of the Hong Kong bowlers, taking two (2) wickets apiece.

In reply, Hong Kong got off to a great start, before the Hebou PNG Barramundis took control, taking regular wickets at crucial times to dismiss Hong Kong for only 180 in 45.4 overs. Anshuman Rath (33) and Waqas Khan (33) top scored for Hong Kong, scoring 33 runs apiece while Damien Ravu continued his great form with the ball for the Barramundis taking 3/35 off eight (8) overs. Lega Siaka (2/25) also picked up a couple of wickets for the Barramundis.

At the conclusion of the match, Tony Ura was awarded the Player of the Match Award for his brilliant knock of 70 runs off just 59 balls.

This result meant that the Hebou PNG Barramundis have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three (3) match Hebou International 50 Over Series with the final match to take place on Friday 12th October, 2018.
